About HantaRadar
HantaRadar is an independent information site about hantavirus disease, run from Germany. We aggregate official surveillance data and translate it into clear, sourced articles for readers who want practical answers.
Mission
Hantavirus is rare but lethal in its severe forms, and most public information sits behind agency formats that are hard to read for non-clinicians. HantaRadar makes the data accessible without sensationalism. We do not run advertising banners, do not collect emails, and do not push fear-based content.
Editorial standards
We treat hantavirus as a YMYL topic (Your Money Your Life). Every claim that could affect a health decision is sourced inline. Our standard sources are:
- WHO Disease Outbreak News and the WHO health topic pages
- ECDC factsheets and surveillance reports
- CDC public health pages and HAN advisories
- RKI weekly reports and SurvStat data
- ProMED-mail for fast field reports, used as a lead, not as a confirmed source
- PAHO for Latin America
- Peer-reviewed journals where review-grade evidence is needed
We do not cite tabloids or speculative blogs. When we use a ProMED post, we mark it as unconfirmed until an agency confirms.
Articles include the date of last review. Major edits trigger a new review date. We do not invent statistics or patient stories. When we are uncertain, we say so.
Affiliate disclosure
We participate in the Amazon Associates program. Some product links earn us a commission if you buy through them. The commission does not change the price you pay. Recommendations are based on what is referenced in CDC, ECDC, and similar guidance, not on which products pay us most.
Operator
HantaRadar is operated by THE VOID, Christian Grab, in Hungen, Germany. Imprint and contact information is on the Imprint page.
Future plans
Phase 2 adds a 3D outbreak map, German and Spanish translations, and dynamic regional risk overlays. Phase 1 focuses on getting the foundation right: clear English content, clean SEO, and a reliable surveillance feed.
